Joseph R. Blakley

Joseph R. Blakley, 67, of Bremen, went peacefully to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at his home. He was born on February 5, 1945 to Harold and Ruth (Jones) Blakley in Adrian, Michigan. He married Sylvia Roebuck on July 2, 1966.

Joseph honorably served his country in Vietnam. He worked for Universal Bearings in Bremen for over 13 years. Joseph was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Bremen. He was also an avid golfer.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Bremen; a son, Joseph

(Barb) Blakley, Jr. of Bremen; a daughter, Penny (Terry) Holderman of Bremen; four grandchildren, Samantha Blakley, Ashley (Vance) Teetz, Christopher Blakley, and Matt Holderman; four great-grandchildren, Lillie, Keegan, Karter, and Jordan; a brother, Arthur (Kathy) Blakley; and a sister, Maggie (Ron) Higgins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jamie Blakley; and two brothers, Jim Blakley and Bob Blakley.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bremen at 10:30 AM with Pastor Neil Wonnacott officiating. A separate service will also be held at Roseland Memorial Gardens, 3744 Brooklyn Road, Jackson, Michigan, on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11 AM with burial following.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 4-8 PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family in care of Mishler Funeral Home.
