Judith "Judy" A. Kiefer

Judith "Judy" A. Kiefer, 59, of Bremen, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012 at her home. She was born on July 12, 1952 in Bremen to Edward and Evelyn (Webster) Claeys.

After graduating from Bremen High School, she married Fred Kiefer on July 7, 1973. Judy worked for First United Church of Christ for 25 years, and then for Horizon Ministries for 13 years, where she was currently a member. During her time as a secretary, Judy used her various passions such as getting others organized, sending encouraging cards, and even her practical jokes, to demonstrate her love for people. Her servant's heart aided her in being Pastor Jim's right hand. Judy loved chocolate, traveling, taking walks, reading, and taking trips up to Ludington, Michigan. Her family remembers her as a compassionate and loving person with a great sense of humor.

Judy is survived by her husband of 38 years, Fred; a son, Jon (Kelly) Kiefer of South Bend; and a brother, Brian (Cindy) Claeys of Plymouth.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Horizon Ministries, 202 N Center Street, Bremen, with Pastor Jim Morse officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
