Ronda Hygema

Ronda Hygema, 52, of Bremen, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 08, 2012 at the Elkhart Hospice House. She was born on July 29, 1959 to Raymond and Sharon (Canada) Small in Logansport.

Ronda graduated from Pioneer High School in 1977 and went on to work as a secretary for Bremen schools for a few years. She married Roger Hygema on November 30, 1984 in the Salem United Methodist Church of Bremen. Ronda enjoyed spending her time as a homemaker, caring for her family, and tending her flower garden. She was also a member of the Nappanee Missionary Church. Ronda loved being a mom and grandmother, and spending time with her husband and best friend, Roger.

She is survived by her husband, Roger, of Bremen; a daughter Candice (Byron) Powell of St.Louis, MO; her parents, Raymond and Sharon, of Logansport; two grandchildren Seth Powell and Lydia Powell; two brothers, Bill (Mindy) Small of Kokomo and Rich (Robin) Small of Logansport; and two sisters, Carol (Brian) Costello and Peggy Funk, both of Logansport.

She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Hygema.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 10AM at the Nappanee Missionary Church and will be officiated by Pastor Dick Beal. Burial will be at the Bremen Cemetery following the service.

Friends may call from 2-8 PM on Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care.
