Phyllis June Leman, 88, of Bremen, passed away February 4, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. She was born May 4, 1923 in Nappanee to Harvey and Bertha (Hoover) Sechrist. Phyllis married Ardale Leman on December 6, 1947; he preceded her in death on June 26, 1951.
Phyllis was a member of Saint Dominic Catholic Church and the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She worked for many years at Mutschler Kitchens in Nappanee and was a clerk at Woodies Supermarket. She enjoyed golf, bowling and working outside in her yard. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Phyllis is survived by a son Philip (Mary Ann) Leman of Bremen, three grandchildren, Michael (Erika) Leman, Laura Griffin, Carrie (Ben) Higgins, eleven great grandchildren, Samantha Quintanilla, Alexandra Gordy, Wyatt Gordy, Blake Nipper, Joshua Griffin, Lauryn Griffin, Carter Leman, Brayden Griffin, Chloe Leman, Addison Higgins and William Leman and two great-great grandchildren, Ryan Unsicker and Louie Quintanilla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Paul Sechrist and a sister Norma Leman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am, Thursday, February 9, 2012 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Bremen and will be officiated by Father Bob Lengerich. Burial will follow at Bremen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday, February 8 at the Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Church. There will be a Rosary at 7:30pm on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Dominic Catholic Church or Southern Care Hospice.
