James B. Huff, 81, of Bremen, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 in his home. He was born November 24, 1930 in Bremen to Earl and Hazel (Schlusser) Huff.
Jim married Loretta J. Hochstetler on June 25, 1949. They had 4 children.
Jim was a lifelong farmer, operating Huff's Hill Dairy Farm. He was named Farmer of the Year in 1961. As a natural salesman, Jim sold insurance and owned Huff & Puff RV Sales & Service. Later in life, Jim and his wife traveled nation-wide delivering RV's. As a favorite pastime, Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren.
A longstanding member of Bremen United Methodist Church, Jim served the church in many capacities. One of his greatest ministries was hosting the Bremen Holy Walk for 30 years. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Loretta; a daughter, Carlene (Tony) Leeper; two sons, Max (Linda) Huff, Rex (Kerry) Huff; a son-in-law, Shane Kline; a brother, Louis Huff; a sister, Martha Yeager, all of Bremen; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kristy Kline; a brother, Fred Huff; and four sisters, Alice Ellis, Alberta Langfeldt, Jeanette Basset, and Margaret Moretto.
Funeral services will be at the Bremen United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. and will be officiated by Pastors Kevin Miller, Chuck Krieg, and Jerry Smith. Burial will be at the Bremen Cemetery following the service.
Friends may call on Friday, January 27, from 2-8 p.m. at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
