Marion L. Symon

Marion L. Symon, 93, of Bremen, passed away October 26, 2011 in Bremen Health Care. Mrs. Symon was born August 2, 1918 in Gurnee, Illinois to Lawrence and Minnie (Christianson) Haines. She married Harry J. Symon in 1941; he preceded her in death on March 28, 1967.

Mrs. Symon has lived at Lake of the Woods since 1946. She was employed by LaFree Lumber /Ace Hardware and Klinge Construction. She retired after 39 years, never missing a day of work. Marion was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Bremen. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Symon is survived by two sons, Bill (Beverly) Symon of Rockport, Indiana, Terry (Debbie) Symon of Rochester, Indiana; four grandchildren, Brent (Laura) Symon, Bonni (Tim) Spencer, Brock Symon, Elizabeth Symon and five great-grandchildren, Olyvia Symon, Sophia Symon, Skylar Niles, Riley Spencer and Lane Spencer. Also surviving is a sister Edie Alford.



Marion was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harry, a brother, George Haines and two sisters, Eleanor Ash and Esther Masleski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at St. Dominic's Catholic Church with Father Bob Lengerich officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 28 at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
