Robin L. Guard, 52, of Bremen passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at his sister's residence in Plymouth. He was born on March 8, 1959 in Bremen to Ralph and Marie (Maxon) Guard.

As a child Robin enjoyed farming and working in the garage and tractor pulling with his father which he continued that tradition with his children. Robin was assistant chief of the Lake of the Woods Fire Department when it was operating. He worked at Johns Mansville Corp. Robin enjoyed camping fishing and working with his hands. Robin was an intelligent and tender hearted man. He was everyone's go to guy. He was very fond of animals. Robin enjoyed attending his children's activities. Robin enjoyed collecting toy farm equipment, trains, and firefighter memorabilia.

Survivors include his six children William (Bobbi) Guard, Jessie Shipley, Sammie (Tony) Bucci all of Nappanee, Robert Guard, Suzie Guard, Ryan Guard all of Culver. He is also survived by three sisters Carol (Richard) Cartwright of Plymouth, Cheryl (Gene) Smirl of Alvin, TX, April Samuels of Bremen, one brother Roger (Shelly) Guard of Plymouth, a paternal grandmother Lois Joslin of Bremen, seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a fiancé Laura Miller.

He was preceded by his parents, a brother Rocky Guard, an infant daughter Tommie Guard, and a grandson Curtis Guard.

Funeral service will be 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home and will be officiated by Pastor Kevin Miller. Burial will be the following Monday at Sandridge Cemetery in Bourbon.

Friends may call from 4-8 on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society or the Salem United Methodist Church of Bremen.
