Lester Hochstetler

Lester Hochstetler, 79, of Bremen passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Community Hospital of Bremen. He was born August 14, 1932 in Nappanee to Raymond S. & Alma B. (Culp) Hochstetler. On October 26, 1962 he married Bertha "Bert" L. Shantz, she survives.

Lester was a US Army veteran and a lifetime member of the Bremen VFW. He and his wife attended Bremen Missionary Church. In his lifetime Lester worked in the RV industry, at Burkholder Building in Nappanee then went on to own his own home improvement business where he did siding, seamless gutters and windows.

Lester loved going to auctions and tractors. He collected antiques and enjoyed refinishing milk cans and oil cans. He and his wife have wintered in Florida since 1965.

Survivors include wife of almost 49 years Bert Hochstetler of Bremen,

3 brothers: Dale L. (Dee) Hochstetler of Bremen, Howard (Leona) Hochstetler of Milford & Raymond (Sharon) Hochstetler, Jr.

of Franklin, NC, sister Neva J. (Arlen) Slabaugh of Plymouth, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister Carrol.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30AM on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Gary Hinkle. Burial will follow at the South Union Cemetery, Nappanee with military honors.

Friends may call from 2 ? 4PM & 6 ? 8PM on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the funeral home.
