June Schermerhorn

June Schermerhorn, 92, of Leesburg, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Milford. She was born June 2, 1919 in Milford to Roy & Anna (Crowl) Pinkerton. On September 7, 1940 she married Paul Schermerhorn, he preceded her in death on November 6, 2006.

June was a lifetime area resident. She was a member of New Salem Church of the Brethren and a graduate of Milford High School. She was a homemaker and worked for The Papers.

Survivors include 3 daughters: Becky Honeycutt of Indianapolis, Patricia (Richard) Lucas of Naples, FL, Cynthia (Dan) Sundberg of Sylvania, OH, 2 sons: Steve (Connie) Schermerhorn of New Paris & Doug Schermerhorn of Rep. of Panama, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, & sister: Maryann Hummel of Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, her parents, 2 children: David & Martha, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the New Salem Church of the Brethren, Milford, and will be officiated by

Rev. Doug Schermerhorn. Burial will follow at the New Salem Cemetery, Milford.

Friends may call from 6PM to 8PM on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Milford and 1 hour before the service at the New Salem Church of the Brethren on Thursday.
