Mildred K. Schmidt

Mildred "Millie" K. Schmidt, 82, beloved wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully at her home in Nappanee, IN on Saturday, October 1, 2011.



She was born in Bristol, CT on September 14, 1929, the daughter of Andrew & Emma

(maiden) Kapchensky. On February 20, 1954 she married Robert Schmidt, he survives.



A lifelong member of the Lutheran church, Millie served at various times as Sunday School teacher, choir member, youth counselor and member of the Ladies Aid. For many years she worked in Special Education in the East Hampton, CT school system.



Besides her husband Robert of 57 years, she leaves behind a son Bruce in Bremen, IN with his wife Debra and children Claire & Riley; a daughter Mary Beth in Ukiah, CA with four children: Jasmine, Lila, Josef & Benjamin. Family meant everything to her.



She was preceded in death by brothers Walter & Oscar, and a sister Eleanore.



Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bremen, IN and will be officiated by Pastor Roger Rohde & Pastor Neil Wonnacott. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery, Bremen, IN.



Friends may call from 5-7PM on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, IN.
