Annabelle R. Anglin, 91, of Milford passed away peacefully September 2, 2011 at Kosciusko Community Hospital. Mrs. Anglin was born on April 22, 1920 in Beaver Dam to J.W. and Louise (Summe) Swick. She was married to Leo W. Anglin, who preceded her in death on December 15, 1990.
Annabelle graduated from Beaver Dam High School and Goshen College. As a farmer's wife, she worked for many years on the family farm, juggling those demands with a career as a second grade school teacher at Milford Elementary School for 30 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, reading and traveling. She was a member of the New Salem Church of the Brethren, the Leesburg Homemakers Club, Leesburg Travelers Club, and the Retired Teachers of Kosciusko County. She was the "glue" of her family, hosting nearly all of the holiday and reunion gatherings. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all those who knew her.
Mrs. Anglin is survived by two daughters, Allyson (Glenn) Santner of Brownsburg, Renee Hursey of Syracuse; and, one son, John Wesley "Jay" Anglin of Leesburg. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Curt (Julie) Hursey, Samantha Hursey, Aaron (Isabel) Santner, Joel Santner, Wesley (Becky) Anglin, Chris Anglin, Dexter Anglin, Katie Anglin, and Ashley Anglin; and, four great grandchildren: Ava and Madelyn Santner, Bailey Hursey, and Elijah Anglin.
She was preceded in death by not only her parents and husband, but eight brothers and sisters, and two children: Leo Wayne Anglin, Jr. and Shay Anglin.
A celebration of Annabelle's life will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 2:00pm at Mishler Funeral Home in Milford with Pastor Brad Cox officiating. A burial ceremony will follow in Leesburg Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation and sharing one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00.
