Wanda Niere

Wanda Niere, maiden name Lawrence, 72, of Bremen, Indiana passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011 in the company of her children and grandchildren at Memorial Hospital. She was born in Quincy, Illinois on September 21, 1938 and graduated from Quincy High School. She spent many years as a seamstress at Bornemann Products in Bremen, Indiana. Wanda was fiercely devoted to her family and loved researching her genealogy. There was never a family gathering without the presence of her flavorful and rich southern cooking. She would frequently be found in her chair enjoying the presence of a mystery novel or watching a musical accompanied by her cat Otis.



Wanda is preceded in death by her husband Bill Niere, whom also passed at 72, her parents Earl and Geneva, her nephew Ed, several brothers and sisters, and her dog Rags. Her memory lives on in her daughter Willett Hooten (Lawrence), her son Martin Niere (Irma), her three grandchildren Dillon Hooten, Katelyn Hooten, and Kristina Niere, her sister-in-law Joan Nickelson (John), her niece Terri Reynolds, three nephews Kenneth, Mike, and John, several brothers and sisters, and her cat Otis.



There will be a public viewing Friday, August 12, at 1:00PM and funeral service will begin 2:00PM at Mishler Funeral Homes in Bremen. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.
