Rick D. Adams

April 16, 1961 — July 10, 2011

Rick D. Adams, age 50, of Milford, IN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 8:10am, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and a great cloud 0f witnesses.

Rick was born April 16, 1961 in Warsaw to Leonard Jr. and Eva (Nelson) Adams. On September 26, 1981, he married the love of his life, Vickie Hall Adams, who survives.

Rick was a 1979 graduate of Whitko High School, and in 1980, he joined the United States Air Force where he served his Country honorably for 9 years. He ended his career in the Air Force as a Sgt. After leaving the Air Force, he worked several years in the R.V. Industry and his most recent job was with Brock Manufacturing in Milford. In June of 2009, he was stricken with an illness that would take him from us far too quickly.

He was a member of the Warsaw Wesleyan Church, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and softball coach. He was a huge fan of the Indianapolis Colts and he enjoyed wood working, carpentry and most of all, cherished spending time with friends and family. He loved his family deeply and the Lord even more. Rick served the lord for many years and faithfully through his battle with cancer. Rick touched many lives and will be missed all those who knew and loved him

Rick is survived by Vickie, his loving wife of 30 years.

Three sons: Matt Adams of Warsaw, IN, Phillip (Jessica) Adams of Muncie, Ricky (Ashley) Adams of Fort Wayne

Three grand-daughters - Hailey, Madelynn and Payton, and one "tbd" grandchild.

Also surviving are his mother, Eva Adams of North Manchester, IN, two brothers, Jim (Deb) Adams of Claypool, Wayne (Rita) Adams of Claypool; one sister, Dunyalle (Kirk) Tolliver of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Adams, Jr. and one sister, Marjorie Hughes.

Services for Rick will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, July 13 at Warsaw Wesleyan Church with Reverends Gale Janofski and Andrew Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Claypool Cemetery with Military Honors.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, July 12 at Warsaw Wesleyan Church, and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be given to Rileys Children's Hospital.
