William E. Rogers, 85, of Bremen passed away at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at his home. He was born July 1, 1926 in Alicia, Ark., to Elmer and Gertrude (McCoy) Rogers. He married Helen Frances Smith Harper Nov. 10, 1951 in Benton Harbor, Mich.
William was a resident of Bremen for 60 years, he worked at Liberty Coach and Ristance, retiring in 1990.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Rogers of Bremen; a sister, Lola Gilmore of Swifton, Ark.; a brother-in-law, Billy Floyd of Keithville, La.; four children, Cheryl (John) Housley, Gail (Simeon) Young and Mark (Ann) Rogers, all of Bremen, and Sharon (Jim) Shultz of Ft. Smith, Ark.; 11 grandchildren, Melanie (Jamie) Perlich of Churubusco, Holly (Deron) Heller of Bremen, Brandon Rogers of Bremen, Amy (Chris) Stine of Bremen, Matt (Tera) Housley of Bremen, Adam Rogers of Warsaw, Megan Housley of Bremen, Hannah Rogers of Bremen, Wil Rogers of Bremen, Scott Chaires of Ft. Smith, Ark. and Christopher (Christy) Chaires of Little Rock, Ark.; three step-grandchildren, Don (Kathy) Young of Lexington, Ky., Lee (Angela) Young of Lancaster, Ky., and Tim Young of Lexington, Ky.; 11 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael William Rogers; three sisters, Emma Mitchell, Lillian Burnett and Vernal Floyd; and a brother, Frank Rogers.
Funeral will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Gary Hinkle. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 ? 6PM on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Marshall County.
