Carl E. "Porky" Bellman, 81, of Bremen, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011 at his residence. He was born June 20, 1930 in Bremen to Charles & Bernice (Martin) Bellman. On June 25, 1955 he married Shirley Walker, who preceded him in death in 1996. He then married Betty Z. Casper on July 31, 1999, she survives.
Carl graduated from Bremen High School in 1948 and was a US Army Korean War veteran, serving from 1951-1953. He was a member of Riverside Methodist Church and retired from NIPSCO after 40 years. He was a member for the NRA, United Steel Workers of America, Bremen VFW & Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include wife Betty Bellman of Bremen, daughter Sandra (Terry) Roth of Glendale Heights, IL, son Scott (Maria) Bellman of Orion Lake, MI, 2 stepsons: Bryan (Cindy) Casper of Argos and Bruce (Dawn) Casper of Plymouth, 2 grandchildren: Eric & Stefan Bellman, 6 step-grandchildren: Heather, Alex, Bryce, Ted & Tiffaney Casper and Kristina (Evan) Horner, and 1 great-step-grandson Grant Horner
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Shirley Bellman and sister Esther Waters.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Gary Hinkle. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery with military rites.
Friends may call from 2-4PM & 5-8PM on Thursday, June 30 at the funeral home.
