Dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Marie Elizabeth Hagenau, passed away peacefully into God's hands on May 26th 2011 at the age of 95 with her family by her side in Corpus Christi, Texas. Marie touched the lives of many people with her generosity, kindness, and her enthusiasm for life.
Marie Hagenau was born in Bremen, Indiana on July 13, 1915. She is preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 49 years, Dale Hagenau where they resided in Bremen, Indiana for all of their married life. She was the youngest of seven children and is preceded in death by all of her siblings: Elmer, Fred, and Hank Perrot; and sisters Rosemary Bice, Margaret Sierens, and Pauline Miller.
She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Kay and James Bolliger of Corpus Christ, Texas; daughter Judi Young and the late Robert Young of Aliso Viejo, California; grandchildren: Mandy Bolliger and John Cameron, Megan and Joe-Ben O'Banion, Mindy and Eric Chastain, and Deanna and Tony Salazar along with two great grandsons, and one great granddaughter. She also leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was a lifelong member of the Bremen United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, and many organizations in the Bremen community she so loved. She cherished the town of Bremen and was a devoted friend to many. The last five years of her life she resided in Corpus Christi, Texas and Aliso Viejo, California in the care of her loving family. Marie will be remembered for her loving and caring heart that she shared with all who knew her. We will never forget her unconditional love and radiant smile coupled with her beautiful spirit which will always live in our hearts forever.
A visitation will be held at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen, Indiana on Thursday, June 9th, 2011 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. An Eastern Star service will begin at 7PM.
A Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, June 10th, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Bremen United Methodist Church and will be officiated by Pastor Kevin Miller. The burial will follow the service at the Bremen Cemetery.
