Evelyn M. Fisher, 98 of Nappanee passed away March 19, 2011 at The Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart. Evelyn was born on March13, 1913 in Syracuse, Indiana to Donovan and Marie (Bailey) Strock. She married Warren Fisher on November 14, 1931, he preceded her on October 9, 2004.
Evelyn loved her family and cherished the times they spent together. She enjoyed gardening; she transplanted flowers that were in her family for three generations. She also enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, baking and cake decorating, making the wedding cakes for her grandchildren. Each member of the family has one of her Christmas stockings. Evelyn was a lifetime area resident. She was a homemaker, a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse and was a Member of the Eastern Star for 50 years and was past Matron.
She is survived by her son Warren "Bud" (Emily) Fisher, Jr., Nappanee, six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Ernest Strock, Tennessee, Ross (Jean) Strock, Ohio, and a sister Mary Louise (Robert) Ginder, Butler.
Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter, Marcia and four brothers.
Services will be 11 am, Wednesday, March 23 at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford.Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 22 from 5-7 pm and one hour prior to the service at Mishler Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Harvest with a Heart.
The family would like to say thank you to all the staff and residents of Heritage House for their love, care and support of Evelyn over the past few years.
