Harold Rusher, 80, of Milford passed away on March 4, 2011 at Goshen General Hospital. Harold was born on January 8, 1931 in Fordsville, Kentucky to Robert and Bertha (Crow) Rusher. He married Elizabeth "Betty" (Kendall) on September 27, 1949, she survives.
Harold enjoyed working outside in the yard, cooking, playing golf and carpentry. He served in The United States Navy during the Korean War before working as a machinist for LTV Steel Company. After his retirement from LTV, he worked for Purdue University, North West. He was also a member of the Milford United Methodist Church. Harold loved his family and cherished the times that they spent together.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Betty, two daughters, Clarissa Lee Skorupa, Monroe, OH, Mary "Dennise" (Dan) Leismer, Milford, three grandchildren, Mary Dannielle (Michael) Goodrich, Ft Wayne , Emily (Adam) Swihart, Elkhart and William Leismer, Milford. Also surviving are two sisters, Kathrin (Gene) Bowling, Owens borough, KY, Janet Embry, Whitesville, KY and one brother Jim Rusher, Hammond.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
A Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm on March 12, 2011 at the Milford United Methodist Church with Reverend Rob Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Harvest with a Heart or Milford United Methodist Church.
