Robert "Bob" J. Hurd

Robert "Bob" J. Hurd, 82, of Milford passed away on February 20, 2011 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare. Bob was born on August 17, 1928 in Roann to Dr. Eldon R. and Agnes (Moore) Hurd. He married Eudora Grove on April 25, 1948, she survives.

Mr. Hurd was a graduate of Milford High School in 1946. He went on to work as a banker for 1st National Bank of Warsaw for 10 years. He spent 20 years in the oil business, was employed at Chore-Time Brock before retiring from Phend and Brown as a Sales Rep. Bob also served on the Milford Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years and was a member of New Salem Church of the Brethren and the Masonic Lodge #418.

Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years Eudora, a son Gary Hurd, Milford, two daughters, Brenda (Joe) Baumgartner, Nappanee and Rhonda (Dan) Dietsch, Fort Wayne, six grandchildren, Rachel (Dennie) Schrock, Elkhart, Ashley (Dustin) Kiefer, South Bend, Blair Baumgartner, Pasadena, CA, Jeffrey Baumgartner, Indianapolis, Myra (Jonathan) Weber, Fort Wayne, Beth Ellen Dietsch, Fort Wayne and one Brother, John (Carol) Hurd, Milford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Thomas Milton Hurd and a daughter in law, Patrice Hurd.

Services will be at 10 am on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford with Reverend Nelson Beer officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Mishler Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be given to New Salem Church of the Brethren.
