Ruth A. Beer

Ruth A. (Rarig) Beer, 87, of Syracuse passed away February 6, 2011 at Goshen General Hospital. She was born on May 28, 1923 in Syracuse to Guy and Eva (Meek) Rarig. Ruth married Donald H. Beer Sr., who passed away on August 23, 2009.

Ruth was a lifetime area resident. She was a graduate of Syracuse High School and was the valedictorian of her class. Ruth was devoted to her husband and family. She kept busy helping on the farm and enjoyed playing golf, traveling and was a great cook. Ruth was a member of the Silver Thimble Club and the Milford Apostolic Christian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be missed dearly by her family.

Mrs. Beer is survived by five children Carol (Dane) Rumfelt, Goshen, Joyce (Dan) Nickelson, Richmond, Jim (Debbie) Beer, Milford, Jack (Donna) Beer, Milford and Don (Nancy) Beer, Jr., Goshen. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, one brother and one sister.

Services will be 10:30 am Friday February 11, 2011 at the Milford Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Milford Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 10, from 4-8 pm at Mishler Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service at the Church.
