Stewart V. Hall, 83, of 805 Baker St., Lot 116, Plymouth, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 27, 2011 at his home in Plymouth. He was born on November 24, 1927 to Charles V. & Loda E.(Kettring) Hall in Mishwaka and grew up in Wyatt. On Sunday, April 24, 1955 he married Rosemary Lee Mutti, who survives.
He graduated from Madison Township High School in 1946 where he was the class president his freshman year, vice-president his senior year, and played on the basketball and softball teams.
After graduation he attended The South Bend College of Commerce. Several years later he began to make his livelihood in the automotive repair business and at one time he and a co-owner operated the G and H Body Shop in LaPaz. After retiring, Stewart enjoyed finding old John Deere tractors and restoring them to look as good as new.
Stewart love to hear the latest about his 7 grandchildren- their accomplishments, graduations, any sport events ? basketball, football, soccer , crew, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts camping adventures, and learning of Cameron and Tommy becoming Eagle Scouts. He was proud of each and every one of his wonderful grandchildren and his wonderful children.
In addition to hearing about his grandchildren, through the years Stewart enjoyed a variety of hobbies: playing Bluegrass music with friends, traveling, camping, family genealogy, bowling and basketball teams plus reading, and "Blueberry Plantation" farming with his dad.
Stewart is survived by Rosemary, his wife of 55 years, daughter Suzie (Bruce) Morgan of Alexandria, VA and their children: Cameron, Tommy and Katie, son Tom Hall of Indiana and his daughter Rachel, daughter Mary Jane Hall of Plano, TX, son Ernie (Susan) Hall and their children: Jacqueline, Nicole and Joey, and 2 nieces: Dixie Beck of Clinton, OH and Patsy Kelley of McCall, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Millicent Kelley.
Funeral service will be held at 3PM on Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen and will be officiated by Youth Pastor Paul Hancy of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1PM on Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.
