Roger Allen Nifong, 85, of Bremen passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Bremen Health Care Center. He was born February 6, 1925 in Bourbon to
Walter O. & Ilo Lavon (Eaglebarger) Nifong. On June 3, 1944 he married Fern Yarian, she preceded him in death on April 28, 2010.
Roger was a farmer all of his life. He drove a school bus for Bremen Public Schools for over 20 years. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking and collecting toy tractors. He was a Deacon in the Bremen Church of the Brethren and served on the Farm Bureau Co-op board.
Survivors include a son Rex (Jacqueline) Nifong of Plymouth, and two daughters, Marcia (Michael) Hall of Elkhart, and Judy (Joel) DeSelm of Woodburn. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Lisa Reichard, Brian Nifong, Matt Hall, Mitch Hall, Marc Hall, Nathan DeSelm, Chris DeSelm, Andrew DeSelm, 2 great grand-children: Isaac & Leliana DeSelm, 2 brothers: Floyd (Ruth) Nifong and Norman (Betty) Nifong, both of Plymouth and sister Lorna Cooksey of LaPorte.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the Bremen Church of the Brethren and will be officiated by Rev. Norman Replogle and Rev. Joel DeSelm. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 ? 8PM on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen and 1 hour before the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bremen Church of the Brethren.
