Kenneth L. Huber, 88, of Bremen passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Bremen Health Care Center. He was born January 11, 1922 in ¬¬Foraker to Henry & Alva (Hunsberger) Huber. On November 8, 1941 he married Bethel Edel, she survives.
Kenneth was a US Army Veteran. He was a field lineman with a rank of TEC-5, earning 5 bronze medals in the European Theatre of WWII with the HQ company of the 17th infantry, 30th Div. (Old Hickory). He worked for Lime City Trucking Co. and Hover Trucking Co., was a member of Bremen VFW and Bremen Volunteer Fire Dept for 20 years.
Kenneth always loved attending high school and Ball State sporting events, watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participate. Most of all, he loved just spending time with his family.
Survivors include wife Bethel Huber of Bremen, 2 sons: Ted (Maureen) Huber of Newburgh, Marty (Connie) Huber of Bremen, 2 daughters: Kathy (Gary) Heller of Bremen and Susan (Dwayne) Gooch of Bremen, grandchildren: Kelly (Keith) Paige of Boonville, Dan (Brooke) Huber of Indianapolis, Missi (Rob) Coffel of Bremen, Tod Jones of Midland, OH, Deron (Holly) Heller of Bremen, Chris (Jamie) Lucas of Bremen, Julie (Ian) Nelson of South Bend, Carrie Gooch of Los Angeles, CA, Lindsey Huber of Bremen, Mitchel Huber of Bloomington, 17 great-grandchildren, sister Marlene (Rich) Hepler of Apache Junction, AZ, sister-in-law Louise Huber, brother-in-law Jack Ray and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Ed Huber, 3 sisters: Esther Meister, Eleanor Ray and Mary Ellen Huber.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, December 6, 2010 at the First United Church of Christ in Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Tom Dean. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery with military honors.
Friends may call from 2 ? 6PM on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bremen High School Athletic Fund.
