Evelyn S. Orn

Evelyn S. Orn, 88, of Milford died Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Lakeland Healthcare and Rehab. She was born June 12, 1922 in Goshen to Powell and Ruth (Gunther) Widner. Evelyn married Darrell Orn on March 30, 1941, who preceded her in death on August 8, 2003.

Evelyn was a lifetime area resident and enjoyed spending the winters in Florida. She began employment during WW II as a Telegrapher with Western Union. She was a bookkeeper for Sharp Hardware, former Secretary and Treasurer for Milford Jr. High School and Medical Transcriptionist for Kosciusko and Goshen Hospitals and also Home Health Care and Hospice. She was a member of the Milford Christian Church, Columbia Reading Circle, Senior Group and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary.

Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Alanna (Paul) Wustrack, Lewiston, New York, Linda Dempster, Bristol, one son, James (Elaine) Orn, Aurora, IL, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Powell Widner and a sister, Dorothy Brumbaugh, both of Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.

Services for Evelyn will be Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11:00 am at Milford Christian Church with Pastor Stephen Leininger officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be private.
