Richard L. Erow

Richard "Dick" L. Erow, Sr., 85, of Milford died October 15, 2010 in his home. He was born November 2, 1924 in Plymouth, Indiana to Clarence and Grace (Drach) Erow. On October 5, 1944 Dick married Bernice (Brockus), she survives.

Formerly of Three Rivers, Dick and his wife moved to Milford eleven years ago. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards. He really liked wood working and was quite the handy man. He retired from Reith Riley Construction twenty four years ago. Dick was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, he started the first Boy Scout Troop at Queen of Peace in Mishawaka where he served as Scout Master for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge, Moose, and several country clubs. Dick was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who loved and cherished his family. "Pow" as he was known by his grandchildren will be greatly missed.

Dick is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bernice, 4 children, Richard L. (Susan) Erow, Jr., Chesterton, Alan L. (Judy) Erow, Michigan City, Marilyn J. (Victor) Staton, Leesburg and Teri L. (Don) Rumsey, Three Rivers, MI. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a sister, Maxine (Paul) Christiansen, Plymouth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Kevin Erow and a brother, Robert Erow.



A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 North Harrison St, Warsaw with Father Phil Devolder officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the church.
