Miriam Lynn Mishler, 79, of Bremen, passed away on September 28, 2010 in her residence. She was born July 14, 1931 in Bremen to Donald and Garnette L. Skinner. She married Russell "Dean" Mishler in February of 1957; he preceded her in March of 1972.
Miriam was a retired Children's Librarian at the Bremen Public Library. She was a graduate of Manchester College, was a member of the Retired Indiana Public Employees Association and a member of the First United Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, playing games, puzzles, bowling and feeding birds and collecting owls. She especially enjoyed studying genealogy and learning about her family.
She is survived by a brother in law, Roger E. Lantz, Bremen, three nieces, Deborah K. (Scott) Manges, North Manchester, Melinda S. Lantz , North Manchester, Kathy S. Fox, Cassopolis, MI, two nephews, Ted R. (Chris) Lantz, Wakarusa and Wayne A. (Becky) Mishler, Bremen. Also surviving are two great nieces, Amy J. Acree, Kelsey J. Lantz;
two great nephews, Jeffrey S. Manges and Jordan D. Lantz.
She was preceded by her parents and her husband Dean and a sister Jo Ellen Lantz.
A funeral service will be held Friday, October 1, 2010 at 11 am at the First United Church of Christ, Bremen with Pastor Tom Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Bremen Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 4-7 pm at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bremen Community Hospital, First United Church of Christ or the Bremen Public Library.
