Merle A. "Red" Tethrake, 85, of Milford passed away September 14, 2010 at Goshen General Hospital. He was born August 14, 1925 in Athens, Michigan
to John and Thelma (Allen) Tethrake. Merle married Norma Rhoades on July 16, 1950, she survives.
Red was a lifetime Milford resident. A veteran of the United States Army, Red served his country during the Korean War. He retired from Mogul Rubber in Goshen and also enjoyed farming. He really liked living in the Milford community and was a simple man who enjoyed life. Red enjoyed spending his spare time working on tractors.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma, four children, Karen (Tim) Pope, Syracuse, Michael (Liz) Tethrake, Milford, Steven (Barb) Tethrake, Collierville, TN and Douglas (Stephanie) Tethrake, Plymouth. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, one sister, Ruth Crippen, IL, two brothers, Robert (Melba) Fleischauer, LaGrange and Charles Fleischauer.
He was preceded in death by his father John, his step father and mother Clifford and Thelma Fleischauer.
There will be a graveside service Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Milford Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, September 17, 2010 from 4:00 ? 8:00 pm at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford.
