Lillie D. Graverson

Lillie D. Graverson, 84 of Bremen passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Bremen Health Care Center. She was born September 1, 1925 in Bremen to Mark and Gertrude (McKesson) Marburger. On June 28, 1947 she married John Graverson. He survives.

Lillie was a 1943 graduate of Bremen High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Bremen and a former Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star 117. Lillie loved singing in the Church choir and was a member of the PTO before being diagnosed at the age of 42 with Multiple Sclerosis. As a young woman, she decided that MS was not going to control her life and she worked diligently throughout life at beating MS. Lillie loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all those who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years John, a daughter Sheila A. (Glenn) Reed of Bremen, a son John R. (Betsy) Graverson of Overland Park, KS, five grandchildren, Christopher Reed, Jason Reed, Andy Graverson, Abby Dugan and Benjamin Graverson and four great-grandchildren, Noah, Eli, Ean, Callen. Also surviving are two brothers John (Connie) Marburger of Bradenton, FL, George (Suetta) Marburger of Bremen and one sister Cecilia (Jim) Lauderback of Troy, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Tom, a sister Mary, and one great-grandson Jonah Reed.

Services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen with Pastor Thomas Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday June 11, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be given to First United Church of Christ in Bremen or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
