William Dean Bremer, 76, of Mulberry, FL, formerly of Lake of the Woods, Bremen passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010. He was born on March 15, 1934 to Henry and Helen Bremer.
On October 15, 1955 he married Joan Marie (Smith) Bremer, who preceded him in death on March 3, 2010. They would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year. After marrying they lived in Hammond then moved to Lake of the Woods, Bremen in 1971, where they resided until moving to Mulberry in 1991.
Bill proudly served our country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a professional truck driver for Artim Trucking in Hammond, then Brown Molasses in Bremen and finally retiring from Preston Trucking, South Bend in 1991.
He leaves behind his 3 daughters: Becky (Wayne) Mishler, Barb (Steve) Court and Bonny (Lynn) Marshall, all of Bremen, 9 grandchildren: Mandy, Will, Katie, Andrew, Emily, Michael, Joey, Danielle and Stephen, 6 great-grandchildren: Cole, Jordan, Cory, Jaden, Abraham and Madalynn. There are 2 more great-grandchildren on the way that will never get to meet the BEAR.
He was greeted in heaven by his beloved wife Joan, his parents, his brother Hank Bremer and his great-granddaughter Callie Grace Van Tornhout.
He was a member of the VFW and Local Teamsters 364.
His life was full of pride for his country but most of all for his family. His humor and wit will be truly missed by those who loved him.
Our Dad will be greatly missed, but we know the only cure for his broken heart was to be again with our Mom, his darling.'
Cremation has taken place in Florida.
Friends may call from 12noon ? 2PM on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. A memorial service will begin at 2:00PM.
