Esther M. Young

Esther M. Young, 86, of Bremen went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the Bremen Health Care Center. She was born June 4, 1923 in Marshall County to parents Albert & Elsie (Perry) Balmer. She married Bernard Giek on November 12, 1938, he preceded her in death. She then married Bernard Young on November 26, 1947, he preceded her in death.

Esther worked for Borneman Products and was a homemaker, member St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bremen, enjoyed bowling, volleyball, Borneman Softball team, loved gardening and her family, also enjoyed playing cards.



Survivors include 2 daughters: Joyce (Lewis) Leeper of Bremen and Jeannette (Les) Grebe of Knoxville, TX, 5 grandchildren: Jill (Vernon) Stanley, Chris (Karmen) Leeper, Mike (Mary) Grebe, Jeff (Crystal) Grebe, Debbie (Dave) Leffel, 11 great-grandchildren: Severin, Sarah, Anna, Heather, Darian, Madison, Gabrielle, Morgan, Jami, Jessica & Zachary and 1 great-great grandchild: Ava Jane, born December 7, 2009, 3 brothers: Delbert (Tomi) Balmer of Lakeville, William Balmer of Rochester, Eldon (Florence) Balmer of TX, 1 sister Shirley (Lee) Lakins of Bremen.



She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands: Bernard Giek & Bernard Young, 3 brothers: Harold, Perry & Roger Balmer and 1 sister Leona Nickerson.



Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Roger Rohde & Pastor Neil Wonnacott. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 ? 8PM on Friday, January 8, 2010 at the church.
