Dorcie James

Dorcie L. James, 101, Milford, died at 2:55 p.m. Dec. 28, 2009, at Lakeland Rehab & Healthcare Center, Milford.

She was born Sept. 23, 1908, in Albany, to John Phillip and Viola Stevens Conley. She married Warren B. James, who died in 1978.

She lived in Lakeland, Fla., for 61 years, moving to Milford 11 years ago. She was a retired beautician from Holiday Inn in Lakeland. She was affiliated with the Christian Church in Lakeland, and Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving are a nephew, Thomas R. (and spouse Priscilla) Conley, Warsaw; a niece, Ann (and spouse Donald) Miller, Warsaw; two great-nephews, Brett Zachary, Fort Wayne, and Thomas (and spouse Sherri) Conley, Leesburg. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

There will be no services. Burial will be in Strong Cemetery, Albany.
