Dorothy M. Sherk

Dorothy M. Sherk, 79, of Bremen passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Community Hospital of Bremen. She was born April 4, 1930 in Madison Twp. to Arnold & Bernice M. (Babcock) McGowen. She married William "Bill" Sherk Sept. 15, 1951. He survives.

Dorothy is a 1948 graduate of Madison Twp. High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Bremen United Methodist Church, Bremen Hospital Aux., Home Ec, Red Cross, former chairman of the Bremen Blood Mobile. She enjoyed her family and was a skilled crafter.

Survivors include husband William "Bill" Sherk of Bremen, daughter Debra (James) Buchtel of St. Joe, MI, son Skip (Nancy) Sherk of Bremen, daughter-in-law: Tammie Sherk of Plymouth, 4 grandchildren: April Buchtel of St. Joe, MI, Marc Buchtel of Baroda, MI, Troy and Alison Sherk of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Paul, 2 sisters Nancy Dutoi and Judi Farrer.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Kevin Miller. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospital of Bremen or Bremen United Methodist Church.
