Samuel "Sam" Anderson, 85, of Bremen passed away with great sadness to his family on Saturday, November 14, 2009 in his residence.
Samuel was born on August 19, 1924 to Nelson and Dorothea (Mast) Anderson in Ashtabula, Ohio. On July 23, 1948 he married Beverly (Johnson) who survives.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and was dearly loved by his family. Sam was a veteran of the United States Navy during WW II and also served in Korea. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post and the American Legion both in Bremen.
Sam is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beverly, four children, Rick (Karen) Anderson, Tamara Anderson both of Bremen, Kelly Anderson, Poinciana, FL and Destiny (Barry) Mancuso of Bremen. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Kristy, Erica, Chad, Nicole, Jared, Caden, and Keyan, five great grandchildren, Mikel, Mason, Dyllin, Alexandra and Jaeliah; one brother, James (Polly) Anderson and one sister, Carol (Jack) Heinke both of Bremen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Terry and a grandson Joshua.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Chuck Krieg officiating. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Sams honor may be given to the American Cancer Society.
