Arthur "Junior" Hardy

Arthur Hardy, 83, of South Bend, formerly of Bremen, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. He was born on June 20, 1926, in Bremen, to Arthur R. & Laura (Mentzel Hardy, Sr., in Bremen.

He married Dolores (Fregia) on December 30, 1964. She survives.

Junior was a 1943 graduate of Bremen High School and a Retired Supervisor with NIPSCO after 38 years. He was in the US Army, a WWII veteran serving in the Philippines, a lifetime member of the Bremen VFW and a past member of the Bremen Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife: Dolores Hardy of South Bend, 2 Sons: Dennis Hardy of Lakeville and Matthew Hardy of Mishawaka, 2 Daughters: Cheryl (Jim) Bellman of Bremen, Vicki Maust of Mishawaka, 7 Grandchildren: Jamie Bellman, Bryan Bellman, Kari Jernigan all of Bremen, Angela Hardy of Colorado, Scott Hardy of Colorado and Jason Hardy of Chicago, Bill Maust of South Bend and 8 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a Sister: Mary Capron.

Services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Pastor Gary Hinkle will officiate. Burial will take place at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8PM on Monday, October 5, 2009, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Lung Association.
