Douglas L. Rensberger, 81, of Milford, passed away on August 23, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital. He was born on January 21, 1928, in Nappanee, IN, to Ward Dwight and Melba Lucille (Rice) Rensberger.
Doug was a lifetime area resident of Milford; was retired from NIPSCO and farmed. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 418 in Milford. He attended Bethel Church of the Brethren. Doug enjoyed playing golf and liked traveling; he would go to Florida every winter. Doug could be found every morning having coffee with the guys at the diner at State Road 6 & 15. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh.
Survivors include 3 sisters: Josephine (Paul) Becker, North Webster; Mary Ann Holland, Louisville, IL; Dorothy Amos, Indianapolis. Also surviving is a brother in law, Bob Emmons of Milford and 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Kathryn Emmons.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at 10AM at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Milford. Revered Tim Sollenberger Morphew will officiate. Burial will take place at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8PM on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at the funeral home.
