Donald H. Beer

Donald H. Beer, 88, of Syracuse passed away August 23, 2009 at Goshen General Hospital. Don was born November 03, 1920 in Milford, Indiana to the late Andrew J. and Bertha (Moseman) Beer. On May 24, 1943 Don married Ruth Rarig who survives.

Don was a lifetime area resident and was a member of the Milford Apostolic Christian Church. After graduating from Milford High School in 1939 he joined the United States Army, serving in WW2. He was a local farmer for many years and was a former Director of Albion PCA. After retirement Don would keep busy with his flower garden, waterfalls and wood working. He always stayed busy. Don was a loving husband, father, grand and great grand father and loved being with his family.

Don is survived by his wife, Ruth of 66 years, five children, Carol (Dane) Rumfelt, Goshen, Joyce (Dan) Nickelson, Richmond, Jim (Debbie) Beer, Milford, Jack (Donna) Beer, Milford, and Don (Nancy) Beer, Jr., Goshen. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Services will be Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 10 am at the Milford Apostolic Christian Church with Nelson Beer officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 Pm at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Milford.
