Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Cornett

Elizabeth Cornett, 72, of Bremen passed away August 8, 2009 at Elkhart Hospice and Palliative Care. She was born on June 10, 1937, in Jackson, KY, to Don & Dorothy (Abnett) Pugh.

She married James O. "Jim" Cornett on July 5, 1957. He survives.

Betty graduated from Breathitt Co. High School and was also a graduate of Lees College in Jackson, KY. She was a Retired Sales Manager from Bornemann Coated Fabrics after 28 years. She was a loving wife and mother. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bremen, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Director, Financial Secretary for 28 years and an Awana Laders for 37 years. Betty was also a member of the Community Hospital of Bremen Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed camping and traveling and loved the outdoors and nature.

Survivors include her Husband: Jim Cornett of Bremen, Son: Ken (Sue) Cornett of Mishwaka, 3 Sisters: Mary G. (Phil) Christman of Zeeland, MI, Margaret (Richard) Smith of Elkhart, Cathy (Richard) Arnold of South Bend, 1 Niece: Debi Owings of Bremen, 6 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Carol Peterson.

Services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Bremen. Pastor Ben Hammond will officiate. Burial will take place at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8PM on Friday, August 14, 2009, at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen.
