Donald H. Strauss

Donald H. Strauss of Cromwell passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 at his residence. He was born on March 10, 1934 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to William H. & Loretta M. (Keister) Strauss. On September 7, 1953 he married Betty Jean "BJ" Huchings, and she preceded him in death on December 24, 2006.

Don was an area resident for the past 50 years, was the owner of D & B Storage in Cromwell, was affiliated with the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, and was an Air Force Veteran.

Surviving are 2 sons: Keith Edward (Jan) Strauss of Syracuse; Gerald Thomas "Jerry" (Karmel) Strauss of Syracuse; 2 daughters: Gale Ann (Michael) Marquardt of Cromwell and Donna Jean Gibson of Syracuse. 6 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, 4 step Grandchildren, and 11 step Great Grandchildren. 3 sibling: Maxine Miller, Jean Boyle, and Bill Strauss. He was preceded in death by 4 siblings: Rosie Pensinger, bobby Strauss, Nancy Myer, and Tommy Strauss.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009, 11:00 AM at Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiated by Pastors Brad Cox and Harlan Steffen. Burial will be private at a later date in Syracuse Cemetery.

No Visitation is Planned. Memorials may be directed to Wawasee Lakeside Chapel.
