Florence H. Martin

Florence H. Martin, 92 of Avalon Village in Ligonier, IN passed away July 4, 2009 at 1:30 AM at her residence of natural causes.

She was born July 26, 1916 in Fort Wayne, IN to Herman & Florence (Brown) Scheele. On October 30, 1936, she married Delos Leland Martin, he preceded in 1992.

She was a lifetime area resident, retired to St. Petersburg, FL and returned to the area 9 years ago.

She was a homemaker, worked at the Syracuse Library, was a member of Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, previously member of Wawasee Baptist Heights, previously member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Mothers club, her hobbies included ceramics and reading. Florence was a graduate of North Side High School in Fort Wayne.



She is survived by: 2 Daughters: Marilyn (Tom) Michael of Syracuse, Mary Jo (Ray) Mullins of Ligonier, 6 Granddaughters, 1 Grandson, 4 Great Granddaughters, 3 Great Grandsons, 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents, her husband, and 1 sister: Ruth Gable.

A graveside service wil be held Tuesday July 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM at McClintic Cemetery in Syracuse with Pastor Harlan Steffen officiating.
