Dave E. Kiefer

Dave E. Kiefer, SR., 61, of Milford passed away June 18, 2009 in his residence. He was born March 19, 1948 in Bremen, Indiana to the late Raymond and Fern (Miller) Kiefer.

On September 9, 1972 Dave married Kathie (Duerksen) who survives.

Dave recently worked in the toy department at Super Wal-Mart in Goshen and previously worked 31 years for Newmar Corporation in Nappanee. He was a member of Nappanee Missionary Church performed in numerous plays in the Nappanee Civic Theatre, Enchanted Hills and the Lake Area Players. He was in three movies with Richardson Productions. He enjoyed playing Santa and was a member of The Amalgamated Order of Real Bearded Santas. He was involved with kid's plays at church as well as in the children's ministries with his wife Kathie for many years. Dave was a US Army Veteran serving his country in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Kathie of Milford, one son, David Jr. (Laura) Kiefer of Milford, One Daughter, Rachel (Steve) Schmidt of Warsaw. Also surviving are six grandchildren, William, Emilie, Patrick, Layla, Cory, and Kyra, two brothers, George (Joy) Kiefer of North Carolina and Fred (Judy) Kiefer of Bremen; one Sister, Deb Wise of Bremen.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services for Dave will be Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 1 PM at the Nappanee Missionary Church, 70417 State Road 19, Nappanee, Indiana 46550 with his Brother in Law's Marvin Duerksen and Mike Peter officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery, Bremen, Indiana with Military Honors.

Visitation will be Monday, June 22, 2009 from 3-5 and 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service at Nappanee Missionary Church, Nappanee, Indiana.
