Willard G. Watkins

Willard G. Watkins, 80, of North Manchester and formerly of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at his residence. He was born on October 2, 1928 in Frozen Creek, KY, to Ballard & Lyda (Smith) Watkins.

On January 14, 1948, he married Freda Campbell; she survives.

Willard moved to North Manchester in 2005, after living in Syracuse for 17 years. He was retired from being self employed Granite Mason. Willard was a member and deacon at 1st Love Bapitist Church in North Manchester, a Member of the Free Masons, Columbia Lodge #44, Miami Town, Ohio, 32nd Degree, Scottish Rite, ASSR.

Survivors include his wife, 4 sons: James C. (Leslie) Watkins of Cincinnati, OH, Joseph H. (Ginger) Watkins of Washington Courthouse, OH, Gregory W. (Sue) Watkins of North Manchester, Willard (Jean) Watkins, Jr., of North Webster, 16 Grandchildren and 30 Great Grandchildren, 1 Brother: Sam Watkins, of South Whitley. He was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Clay Watkins.

Services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 11:00AM, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Pastor Jerry Creekmore will officiate. Burial will take place in the Booneville Cemetery. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the 1st Love Baptist Church or the Wabash County Hospice.
