Margaret Washburn

Margaret Elizabeth Washburn, 97, of Bremen passed away on March 22, 2009 at the Bremen Health Care Center in Bremen. She was born on May 12, 1911 in Wawaka, IN to John & Lulu (Peffer) Stigner. She married Leslie C. Washburn on January 11, 1947. He preceded in death on November 20, 1986.

Margaret worked several years at Bal-band in Mishawaka, ran a motel in Etna Green for 20 years and farmed for 20 years. She was a loving mother & grandmother, loved her children and grandchildren. She was a very hard worker.



Survivors include 2 daughters: Dori (Neil) Montague of Bremen and Margie (Don) VanGilder of Ft. Wayne, 6 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen and will be officiated by Rev. Gary Kauffman. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour before the service on Wednesday.
