Maxine F. Balsley, 76, of Bremen, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009, at her residence. She was born on September 21, 1932, in St. Joseph County, IN, to Seward Rule & Violet (McGowen) Jones.
She married Owen Balsley on October 12, 1950. He survives.
Maxine retired from Ristance and was a homemaker. She attended Bremen High School and the Bremen Church of God, loved flowers and gardening. She enjoyed painting and crafts.
Survivors include her Husband Owen Balsley of Bremen, 2 sons: Larry (Bev) Balsley, Sr. of Bremen, Terry (Donna) Balsley of Bremen, 3 grandchildren: Larry (Angie) Balsley, Jr. of Bremen, Stacy (George) Younis of Ferndale, MI, Peggy (James) Cronin of Syracuse, 3 great-grandchildren: Benjamin Balsley, Maurice Younis, Savannah Cronin, 2 sisters: Geneva Abbiehl of Mishawaka, Shirley Stine of Bremen, 4 brothers: Paul (Fern) Sherk of Bremen, Bill (Dorothy) Sherk of Bremen, Ronnie (Sue) Sherk of Plymouth, Lester Sherk of Mishawaka. She was preceded in death by her Parents and 1 brother: James Rule.
Services will be held at 1:00PM, on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Pastor Tom Brown will officiate. Burial will take place at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 11AM until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
