Florence E. Shenefield

Florence E. Shenefield, 96, of Syracuse passed away Monday, March 9, 2009 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born February 19, 1913 in Pierceton, IN to Elson & Alta (Tatman) Bowman. On August 5, 1931 she married Lyndon Shenefield; he preceded her in death in 1972.

Florence worked for many years at Alfran Nursing Home in Warsaw; was a cook at the Pierceton School; and previously worked at the former Baker's Market in Syracuse.

She previously attended the Presbyterian Church in Pierceton, was associated with the Ladies Aid Society at Eel River Church, and recently attended New Salem Church of the Brethren.

Florence is survived by 1 daughter: Rachael (Richard) Aaron of Mountain View, Arkansas; 1 son: Lewis (Yevonne) Shenefield of Syracuse; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren; 3 nephews and 1 niece. She was preceded in death by a sister: Alice Wilson and a half brother: J R Baker.

Services will be Saturday, March 14, 2009, 10:30 AM at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse with Rev. Robert Rice officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 13 from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.

Memorial may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
