Paul A. Cripe,97 Bremen passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa. He was born November 27, 1911 in Goshen to Rev. Charles & Amanda (Pletcher) Cripe and was a lifelong Bremen resident until recently. He was married to Mary Alice Young on November 22, 1936. She preceded him in death.
Paul graduated from Bremen High School in 1929, graduated from Manchester College and completed his post-graduate work at Notre Dame. He was a Chemist for Uniroyal, lifelong member Bremen Church of the Brethren, member Bremen Kiwanis, led the senior citizen choir at The Pines, member South Bend-Mishawaka Valliers for 23 years, performed with several gospel quartets, loved fishing.
Survivors include 1 son: Donald (Carol) Cripe of Bremen, 1 daughter: Marylin Haines of Indianapolis, Grandson Thomas Cripe, II of Plymouth and Granddaughter Teresa (Tony) Cox of Tippecanoe, both whom he raised as his children, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Alice, parents, 1 son Thomas Cripe.
Service will be at 3:00PM on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the Bremen Church of the Brethren, and will be officiated by Rev. Jack Kline.
Burial will be at South Union Cemetery, Nappanee.
Visitation will be from 1:00PM until time of service on Sunday, February 15, 2009 the church.
Memorials may be made to the Bremen Church of the Brethren.
