Robert E. Hiney

Robert E. Hiney, 53, of Syracuse, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008, at Goshen General Hospital. He was born on June 10, 1955, in Edna, Ohio, to Robert & Gloria Hiney.

He married Marie A. Cramar on May 25, 1997. She survives.

An area resident for the past 8 years, Robert came from Texas. He was a teacher and coach for 15 years in Caldwell and Bremond, Texas, and was a graduate of Texas A&M University. Robert was a member of the Wawasee Heights Baptist Church, where he started the men's auxiliary. He was an Army Veteran, serving as a medic in Vietnam.

Survivors include his Wife, 2 daughters: Jennifer Hiney of Texas, Sarah Thompson of Seattle, Washington, 2 sons: Zachary Hiney of College Station, Texas, and Lucas Hiney of Caldwell, Texas, 1 stepson: Jerry (Toni) Simon of Nappanee, his grandchildren: Dylan, Hannah and Kara Simon, his sister: Beth Ann Kraykovich of Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents.

No visitation is planned. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
