Kenneth D. "Kenny" Moser, 82, of Syracuse passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at his residence. He was born on August 17, 1926, in Vera Cruz, Indiana, to Albert & Nellie (Heininger) Moser.
On December 5, 1981, he married Norma (Kaufman) Leer; she survives.
Kenny was an area resident since 1967, coming from Bluffton. He was the former owner of Moser & Sons Heating and Air Conditioning in Bluffton and was a volunteer Fireman in Bluffton. He was the previous owner of the Backwater Grocery in North Webster and most recently, worked at Commodore Homes in Syracuse. Kenny was a 60 year member of the North Webster American Legion Post 253, Life Member and Past Commander of Syracue VFW #1342, member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 3760 in Syracuse and a member of the Moose Lodge in Bluffton. He was a WWII Army veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater.
Survivors include his wife of Syracuse, 2 sons: Terry L. Moser of Syracuse, Timothy W. (Dair) Moser of Phoenix, AZ, 3 daughters: Tonia L. Barnhart and Jody M. Moser of Syracuse, Judy K. Johnson of Angola, Stepson: Randy Leer of Nebraska, 1 Brother: Frank D. (Norma) Moser of Bluffton, 2 sisters: Betty (Leon) Mann and Phyllis (Virgil) Schwartz of Bluffton, 2 grandchildren and 1 step grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Toby A. Moser.
Services will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2008, at 2:00PM at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Burial will take place at Syracuse Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, October 4, 2008, from 1-6PM at the funeral home. There will be military honors by members of the North Webster American Legion and the Syracuse VFW.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Syracuse EMS or Goshen General Hospital Foundation.
