Russell W. Baker, 88, of Bremen, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2008, at Bremen Health Care Center. He was born on July 31, 1919, in Bourbon Twp., IN, to Ben & Ethel (Knepp) Baker.
He married Charlotte Beyler on November 16, 1940. They were married for 66 years before she preceded him in death on March 1, 2007.
Russell was a Farmer & Livestock Hauler. He was a 1937 graduate of Bremen High School and a Member Riverside United Methodist Church. He enjoyed watching Bremen High School Sports, loved a good fish fry, and he loved family gatherings especially Christmas at his house. He loved his family deeply and was proud of them.
Survivors include 2 sons: Richard (Karen) Baker of Bremen, Dean (Lee) Baker of Teegarden, 1 daughter: Janice (Roger) Patterson of Bremen, 7 grandchildren: Ty and Tracy Baker, Trudy and Lane Sahlhoff, Deana and Rhonda Baker, Richard and Lisa Moren, Susan and Jason Bass, William Patterson, Kristin and Josh Walker, 11 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Infant son Donald Lee, 2 brothers: Dale & Harold, 1 sister: Charlotte Ramsey.
Services will be held at 10:30AM Tuesday July 22, 2008 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, with Pastor Gale Law officiating. Burial will take place at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 PM Monday, July 21, 2008, at the funeral home.
