Franklin R. Reed

Mr. Franklin R. Reed, age 71, of North Webster passed away Sunday May 25, 2008 at 3:43 PM at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Milford. He was born on July 30, 1936, in Nappanee, Indiana, to George & Alice (Shumaker) Reed.

In the 1970s, he married Brenda Greenhill. She preceded him in death in 1990.

Franklin worked as a truck drive and had also owned and operated Reeds Greater Shows. He was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster. Franklin enjoyed trucks, eating, watching Hee Haw, Westerns (especially Bonanza) and NASCAR (Dale Jarrett).

Survivors include 3 Daughters: Pamela J. Reed of Nappanee, Betta Ann Pekarek of Mansfield, OH, Dawn Romans of Northride, OH, 1 Son: vonnie Greenhill of Pendleton, IN, 3 Grandchildren: Josh, Lexi & Joey, 1 Sister: Marilyn (Lowell) Kuhn of Bremen, 2 Brothers: Jim (Elaine) Reed of Cassopolis, MI, George (Carolyn) Reed of Nappanee. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and 2 Grandsons: Terry & Brandon.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008, at 11:00AM, at Calvary Baptist Church in Nappanee. Pastor Darrel Flaming will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date. No visitation is planned.
