Samuel W. Bloomfield, 90, of Syracuse, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008, at 9:15 A.M. at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born on October 11, 1917, in Kendallville to Earl & Mary (Drew)Bloomfield.
He married Myra E. Hendrickson.She survives.
He was an area resident for over 60 years & had worked in Maintenance at Essex Wire in Ligonier. He was a very dedicated veteran who served his country during WWII in the Army. He was a member of The Vineyard Community Church in Syracuse, enjoyed carpentry, working in his yard, & playing poker.
Survivors include his wife, 1 Daughter: Carleen Peachey of Syracuse. 2 Sons: Curtis of San Luis Obispo, CA & Byron of Sturgis, MI. 2 Sisters: Agnus Tutwiler of OH & Delores Goble of MI. 13 Grandchildren & 20 Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, 1 Son: Steve, 1 Daughter: Karen Adkins. 3 Brothers: Sherman, Earl Jr. & Louis Bloomfield. 2 Sisters: Gerldine Goble & Vivi Hawk.
A graveside service will be held March 19, 2008 at Bethel Cemetery in Syracuse at 2:00 PM with Full military honors. Pastor Kent Butcher is officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Vineyard Community Church- 1012 N SR 13, Syracuse, IN 46567. Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel in Syracuse is handling arrangements.
